October CBA Doubles

Andresen and Bockstie Dominate Step Ladder

The Central bowlers Alliance took a trip to Saxton Lanes in Little Canada Minnesota for this seasons two day doubles event. Bowlers bowled two eight game blocks, on a different pattern each block, bowling baker style. Patterns for the weekend was 44ft 2024 PBA Salvino and 40ft 2024 PBA Monacelli. After 16 games on Saturday 12 teams moved onto Sundays matchplay format with 15 total teams cashing the event. It took a score of 3105 to move onto Sunday and a score of 3067 to cash this year. On Sunday bowlers bowled 12, two game matches, giving teams 15 bonus pins for each game they won and 20 bonus pins for winning the total for the match, making up 50 bonus pins up for grabs every match. After 12 matches, 5 teams moved into the step ladder, winners will be determined based on 2 game total pinfall.

September CBA (Bowler of the Decades Event#1)

Stearns Tops Helland in High Score Finals

The Central Bowlers Alliance took a trip to Southway Bowl in St. Cloud Minnesota for this years September event. This tournament was also the first leg of the Bowler of the Decades series, a tournament with more at stake as the highest points for each age bracket have a chance for added money at the season finale. Bowlers were tasked on bowling 8 games on 2025 PBA Weber pattern. After 8 games of qualifying it took a score of 1559 to make the cut. 12 bowlers making the cut had to bowl 2 more games for seeding to go into a matchplay bracket. the top 3 seed got an automatic bye into the step ladder finals while the 4th and 5th seed was to be determined. Zach Continues to Shine

This months CBA tournament was held at Sun Ray lanes in St. Paul, Minnesota. Bowlers were tasked of bowling 8 games on 2025 PBA Salvino. taking the top 18 into the matchplay round it took a final score of 1533 to move on. For this months matchplay round the pattern will be reoiled and the pinfall will carryover from qualifying. In matchplay, bowlers were awarded 30 bonus pins if they won their match. A combine score from qualifying and matchplay, it took 2904 to move on to the step ladder finals.

Andresen VS Schiffler Tight Match for Title

Today bowlers bowled on a very difficult 2025 PBA Badger pattern. The cut line for the top 18 going into the matchplay was a score of 1640. Matchplay at this event was a reoil with qualifying pins not carrying over into the next round. Starting from scratch in a 6 game luck of the draw matchplay, winning 30 bonus pins for every match they won. It took a score of 1329 to make the step ladder finals.

Hersrud Wins First CBA Title

Bowling on 2025 PBA Ballard pattern, bowlers were tasked of bowling on a tough short pattern for this months CBA outing at Flaherty's. This tough pattern really made bowlers use some touch with Flaherty's being unique with three different lane surfaces on each lane. Making cut would take a score of 1551 to move on to the Luck of the Draw Matchplay format. The pins would carry over but there was no reoil. Bowlers were awarded 30 bonus pins for every match that they won. Rounding out the matchplay it would take a final combine total of 2958 to make the step ladder finals.

Jones Takes CBA Opener

This marks the start of the 2025-26 CBA Season. We take a trip to Andover lanes for the season opener. Bowlers bowled on 2024 PBA Bear, a very tough flat pattern. With that to make the matchplay round it took a score of 1664 to move on. Pins were not carried over and there was no reoil. Bowlers bowled 6 more games earning 30 bonus pins if they won their match. To make the step ladder finals it took a score 1448.
